As parents, we develop our own approaches to nurturing, caring for and developing our children as they grow from babies through to young adults. But sometimes situations arise in life – either at home or at school – that may bring some challenges for you and your child to deal with.
Being able to deal with these challenges, and helping your child manage life when it gets tough will make them stronger and improve their chances of being able to bounce back when things are stacked against them.
There isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach, but Youth Connect 5 will teach you the skills you can then draw upon to both build your own resilience, but most importantly your child’s.
During the course you will:
- Understand young people’s mental health
- Think about what makes us thrive
- Develop family resilience
- Understand why we feel the way we do
- Develop skills to support your children.
The programme will be a closed group for parents from both infant school and junior school and will be facilitated by Jackie Harris and Carmel Perry. Venue : st Margaret Mary’s junior school, 9.15 – 11.15am every Thursday throughout November 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th.
